The DOORS Research Exchange - Call for Applications

The ESRE program allows successful applicants to work at a host institution and conduct collaborative research activities for at least one week. The DOORS project will support the exchange, including travel costs, accommodation, and daily living expenses up to a certain amount. The aim is to build collaborations in marine and coastal research areas. Collaborative proposals related to the DOORS project are encouraged but optional. The Steering Panel will evaluate proposals and identify synergies.

Pilot call for research proposals with DANUBIUS-RI

DANUBIUS-RI has launched a Call for Proposals for researchers, particularly early-stage researchers and PhD students, to test and utilise selected services free of charge. The services offered include access to research locations, collated data, sampling and analysis tools, ecosystem manipulation experiments, satellite observation, models, and more.

Eligible researchers are invited to submit proposals for experiments using a combination of at least three of these services. Proposals can be submitted by individuals or consortia from multiple countries, with preference given to consortia in case of scoring ties.

DANUBIUS-RI offers complimentary research facilitating services to support interdisciplinary research on River-Sea Systems. These services aim to provide science-based solutions to environmental and societal risks arising from global and climate change, focusing on water, sediment, and biotic variations impacting aquatic ecosystems in River-Sea Systems under extreme events and climate change scenarios.

Data Scientist for the BioDT project

The appointment is a full-time project position until the end of the project in May 2025. The position will be associated with the Norwegian Participant Node (GBIF Norway) of the Global Biodiversity Information Facility (GBIF) and based at the University of Oslo Natural History Museum in Oslo. The appointed candidate will take part in a multinational team for delivering the responsibilities of UiO for the Horizon Europe-funded Biodiversity Twin (BioDT) project and be responsible for working with biodiversity information standards for the content data streams in collaboration with project partners and international standards bodies. PhD Opportunity within RESTORE4Cs Project at University of Aveiro

The University of Aveiro has just opened a call for applications for 3 (three) grants, under the Ph.D. Programme on Business and Economics, one of those, the Reference C-RESTORE4Cs, is part of the EU project RESTORE4Cs. The PhD work plan to be carried out will be anchored on the BESIDE platform, under the topic ofenvironmental economics and sustainable management of natural resources, and integrated in the framework of project activities, and will address the following scientific question: How can multiple challenges such as climate mitigation and adaptation, biodiversity, disaster risk reduction and other ecosystem services be tackled to foster mutually reinforcing actions and enhance co-benefits from nature restoration (e.g., wetland,forests) and valuation of these activities in the economy, in the context of the new EU Nature Restoration Law and the implementation of the Land Use, Land Use Change and Forestry (LULUCF) Regulations?
