Following the launch of the first module on invasive alien species’ prevention, the EU-funded GuardIAS project team is pleased to announce the second free online course on “Early Detection and Monitoring”.
When prevention measures fail, detecting a non-native species early (before it reproduces and spreads) is the most critical step in protecting aquatic habitats, as it enables timely responses and management decisions. This interactive, self-paced course gives environmental professionals, researchers, and students a practical framework for designing field surveys, managing data uncertainty, and triggering early warning systems.
- What: Free online course on Aquatic Invasive Alien Species Detection and Monitoring (MOOC 2);
- Who: Environmental and protected area managers, monitoring agencies, consultants, and students;
- Workload: Around 25 hours of study (equivalent to 1 CFU), with an official certificate awarded upon completion.
