Fully-funded PhD opportunity within the PEAT-GENIE project

Walsh Scholar PhD Scholarship: Understanding the Hydrology of Grassland Peat Soils. A fully funded PhD scholarship is available with Teagasc Moorepark, in partnership with the University of Galway, beginning September 2026. This research forms part of the PEAT-GENIE project, which aims to improve the use of environmental research data through artificial intelligence (AI) and generative AI tools.

The scholar will participate in the structured Walsh Scholars Programme and receive:

  • €25,000 annual stipend
  • University fees covered
  • Four-year structured doctoral programme
  • Opportunities for international research placement
